Road to Grandmaster: Let's go #1

After a six-year struggle to reach a 2400 rating, I finally earned my International Master title, and it was officially approved at the FIDE meeting on July 18th. Achieving the International Master title was not an easy goal, but I'm finally relieved that it's complete.

After celebrating for over a week, I was in a dilemma about whether to pursue the Grandmaster title. At this point, I had two options: either become a full-time chess coach—something many of my friends did after becoming an IM, and they're making good money—or try for the Grandmaster title.

After weeks of deliberation, I decided to go for the Grandmaster title and commit the next two years to it. We'll talk a lot about that in this blog post.
